METALS

1. Slag Aggregates (General)

Quality-controlled aggregates produced from slag, used in a wide range of construction applications. They are predictable, sustainable, and offer a viable alternative to traditional primary aggregates.

Cement replacement, lightweight hydraulic fill, masonry, structural concrete, asphalt, granular base aggregate, rail ballast, mineral wool, water and sewage treatment, soil conditioning, glass production.

2. EAF Slag (Electric Arc Furnace Slag)

Formed during iron manufacturing, cooled slowly by ambient air and processed into various sizes.

Construction aggregate in ready-mix and precast concrete, asphalt, fill material, and as a filter media in water and sewage treatment.

3. Air-Cooled Slag

Large aggregate product, often called riprap, produced by air cooling molten slag.

Shoreline and stream bank stabilization, erosion prevention, gabion baskets, manufacturing insulating mineral wool.

4. Granulated Steel Slag

Produced during steelmaking, dense rock-like material processed and sized for specific applications.

Construction aggregates, rail ballast, agricultural soil amendment, manufacture of Ordinary Portland Cement, environmental remediation material, high-grip asphalt for skid resistance.

5. Steel Slag Aggregates

Durable, strong aggregates with greater surface area than most primary aggregates, highly resistant to weathering, mild alkalinity, and no corrosion risk to steel in concrete.

Reduced energy use and CO₂ emissions, lower shipping costs, high resistance to sulfate attack and alkali-silica reaction, superior thermal and fire resistance properties.
